NeuronUP Confirmed as HIPAA Compliant by Compliancy Group

Compliancy Group has announced that NeuronUP has demonstrated its good faith effort toward HIPAA compliance and has met all requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act’s Rules.

NeuronUP is a 3-in-1 tool developed to help save neurorehabilitation specialists time in a clinical setting. The tool uses an online library of over 10,000 digital and paper activities, each of which is classified by the cognitive function or area of occupation being worked and can be used to easily create therapies to meet the needs of each individual client.

NeuronUP includes a patient management tool to record patient data and track each patient’s history of therapies. A therapy management tool helps with the organization of therapy sessions and programs, which can be completed in the clinic, independently at home, or via video conferencing with the therapist.

Since the tool is used in connection with protected health information, NeuronUP is classed as a business associate and must comply with the regulatory standards of HIPAA. To ensure the company was fully compliant with all aspects of the HIPAA Rules, NeuronUP partnered with Compliancy Group.

Assisted by Compliancy Group’s compliance coaches and using its proprietary HIPAA compliance tracking solution – The Guard – NeuronUP was able to achieve HIPAA compliance. After assessing NeuronUP’s good faith effort towards HIPAA compliance, Compliancy Group awarded the company the HIPAA Seal of Compliance.

The HIPAA Seal of Compliance demonstrates a company has implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program through use of The Guard solution, and shows current and future clients that a company is fully committed to ensuring the privacy and security of healthcare data and is meeting all of its responsibilities under HIPAA.

“NeuronUP, the leader for professionals working in neurorehabilitation and cognitive stimulation, takes seriously the privacy of our customers’ patients and clients.  HIPAA compliance ensures that we go above and beyond to protect our loyal clients and the information that they share with us,” said NeuronUP.

Compliancy Group has announced that the medical device company Nanodropper Inc. has implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program and has demonstrated compliance with the Privacy, Security, Omnibus, and Breach Notification Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Nanodropper was inspired by a ProPublica article that revealed drug companies were making eyedrop bottles that deliver eye drops containing more liquid that the human eye can hold, which results in considerable waste and unnecessary costs for patients. Nanodropper developed a first-of-its-kind patient-centered adaptor that fits on eyedrop bottles and reduces the volume of currently oversized eyedrops by more than 60 percent.

The Nanodropper device, after which the company is named, is a FDA-listed, Class I medical device, that reduces cost and waste and helps to minimize potential side effects of vision-saving treatments. In addition to this flagship product, Nanodropper offers value-based solutions to close health equity gaps while promoting patient education and advocacy.

Under HIPAA, any entity that is provided with identifiable healthcare data is required to comply with the HIPAA Rules and must implement safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of identifiable protected health information.

A purchase with us does not require providing much, if any, medical information, but for anyone providing PHI, rest assured our top priority is keeping that information as safe and secure as possible.”
