Let’s Talk Interactive Achieves HIPAA Compliance with Compliancy Group

The customizable telehealth solution provider, Let’s Talk Interactive, Inc., has recently demonstrated compliance with the federally mandated standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and has been confirmed as having implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program.

Vendors who service health care clients who come into contact with PHI in any way must be HIPAA compliant. Policies and procedures must be implemented, maintained, and followed to ensure the privacy of protected health information, and administrative, physical, and technical safeguards implemented to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PHI.

To ensure that no aspect of compliance was overlooked, Let’s Talk Interactive partnered with Compliancy Group and used the firm’s proven HIPAA methodology to ensure adherence to the necessary regulatory standards outlined in the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HIPAA Security Rule, HIPAA Breach Notification Rule, HIPAA Omnibus Rule, and the HITECH Act, with progress along that compliance journey tracked using Compliancy Group’s compliance tracking software solution – The Guard.

“At Let’s Talk Interactive, we have a bedrock commitment to making sure our patients’ private health care information stays private,” said Arthur Cooksey, chairman and CEO of Let’s Talk Interactive. “That extends from our leading-edge telehealth technology itself to the people at all levels of our company. Our clients demand it, our patients deserve it, and working with Compliancy Group ensures that we will continue to do just that.”

After completing that process, which included a six-stage risk analysis and remediation process, Compliancy Group verified Let’s Talk Interactive’s good faith effort toward HIPAA compliance and awarded the company the HIPAA Seal of Compliance. The HIPAA Seal of Compliance is awarded to companies that have implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program through the use of The Guard. The HIPAA Seal of Compliance demonstrates to current and future clients that Let’s Talk Interactive is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of healthcare data.

“Let’s Talk Interactive chose Compliancy Group for its comprehensive approach, ensuring companies perform security risk assessments, employee awareness training, and management of business associate agreements. By working with Compliancy Group to achieve HIPAA compliance, we provide peace of mind to patients and confidence to our clients and partners,” said Cooksey. “It allows us to stand out from much of the industry and aligns with our commitment to excellence in everything we do.”

Referral Ease Confirmed as HIPAA Compliant

Compliancy Group has confirmed Referral Ease has implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program. Cheshire, CT-based Referral Ease was recently formed with the goal of eliminating referrals paperwork and reducing frustration and appointment-related stress for patients and healthcare professionals.

The company was founded by Dr. Hugh Finch Jr. DDS, MBA, in response to the lack of a comprehensive, HIPAA-compliant digital platform for managing patient referrals.

“After searching the web and seeking advice from colleagues, Dr. Finch, founder of Referral Ease, was unable to find a truly comprehensive platform for eliminating paper referrals.  That’s when Dr. Finch shared his dilemma with his business partner and co-founder of Referral Ease Together, they created the most comprehensive and HIPPA compliant solution for one of the last paper processes in Dentistry… referrals.”

Since HIPAA-regulated information is fed into the platform, safeguards are required to ensure patient privacy and the security of protected health information. To ensure that those safeguards were implemented along with all appropriate policies and procedures, Referral Ease sought assistance from Compliancy Group.

Compliancy Group has developed a HIPAA compliance methodology that has been used by many HIPAA-regulated entities to ensure compliance with all appropriate provisions of the HIPAA Rules. Clients follow that process and track their progress along their compliance journeys using Compliancy Group’s proprietary compliance-tracking software solution – The Guard.

After completing that process, which includes a 6-stage risk analysis and remediation process, Compliancy Group’s HIPAA subject matter experts assessed Referral Ease’s good faith effort toward HIPAA compliance and confirmed the company has implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program and is compliant with all appropriate provisions of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, Security Rule, Breach Notification Rule, Omnibus Rule, and the HITECH Act.

Compliancy Group clients that pass the assessments are awarded the HIPAA Seal of Compliance. The HIPAA Seal of Compliance demonstrates to current and future clients that a company is committed to privacy and security and has an effective program in place to ensure future compliance.

Zentist Verified as HIPAA Compliant

The automated insurance billing platform provider Zentist has demonstrated the company has implemented a HIPAA compliance program and is fully compliant with all appropriate provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule, Security Rule, Breach Notification Rule, Omnibus Rule, and the HITECH Act.

The Zentist platform was developed to simplify and automate insurance revenue cycle management (RCM) for dental practices and eliminate the significant costs associated with the inefficient legacy billing systems. It has been estimated that the use of legacy billing systems costs dental businesses around $2.1 billion in lost revenue. The Zentist platform uses robotic processes and machine learning to automate manual billing processes and meet the complex billing needs of modern dental practices. The nature of the Zentist platform means it comes into contact with the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of dental patients, which makes Zentist a business associate under HIPAA.

Under HIPAA, business associates are required to comply with certain provisions of the HIPAA Rules and must ensure the privacy and security of ePHI. To ensure the platform and the company were fully compliant with all appropriate provisions of the HIPAA Rules and the HITECH Act, Zentist partnered with Compliancy Group and used its HIPAA implementation program and compliance tracking software solution – The Guard – to methodically ensure policies and procedures were implemented that met the minimum standards for privacy that are required by HIPAA and appropriate technical, physical, and administrative safeguards were implemented to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability, of ePHI.

After completing that process, and using Compliancy Group’s 6-stage HIPAA risk analysis and remediation methodology, Zentist’s good faith effort toward HIPAA compliance was validated by Compliancy Group, which awarded the company the HIPAA Seal of Compliance. The HIPAA Seal of Compliance is evidence of Zentist’s commitment to ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive patient information and demonstrates to dental practices that the Zentist platform fully supports HIPAA compliance.
