Webinar 05/21/20: How to Double Protection for Remote Workers

Are you concerned about your remote employees accessing malicious websites, being fooled by phishing scams, or downloading malware?

On Thursday May 21, 2020, the Ireland-based cybersecurity company TitanHQ is hosting a webinar to explain how you can better protect your remote workers and significantly improve your defenses against phishing and malware attacks.

Most cyberattacks that target employees have an email and web-based component. Email security solutions are effective at blocking the majority of malicious emails, but some emails may end up being delivered to inboxes.

Links in the emails direct employees to websites were credentials are harvested or malware is downloaded. Implementing a web filtering solution provides protection from the web-based part of the attack and prevents employees from visiting malicious websites. A web filter adds an important extra layer of security against phishing attacks and malware and ransomware downloads.

During the webinar, TitanHQ will explain how COVID-19 is being exploited by cybercriminals to attack organizations and steps that can be taken to meet the challenge of protecting a largely distributed workforce.

The webinar will focus on TitanHQ’s DNS-based web filtering solution – WebTitan – and will explain the features and security layers of the solution that will help you manage user security at multiple locations.

Webinar 03/24/20: HIPAA Tips on Working from Home, Telehealth, and Telecommuting

On March 24, 2020, Compliancy Group will be hosting a webinar to help HIPAA-covered entities and their business associates ensure they are fully compliant with HIPAA Rules when working remotely from home and handling protected health information. Compliancy Group will also be explaining the HIPAA Rules that apply to Telehealth and video conferencing.

Many healthcare professionals and business associates are using portable electronic devices to access systems in the office and are spending at least part of the week working remotely or working from home.

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has seen many companies take the decision to stop employees coming into work and instead are allowing them to use personal or company-owned devices to work from home to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19.

Most companies handling protected health information (PHI) are working virtually to keep their business up and running and permit telecommuting for some members of the workforce; however, doing so and remaining in HIPAA compliance can be a challenge.

Join Compliancy Group to find out how HIPAA Rules apply when working from home and video conferencing and learn about the HIPAA telehealth rules and to find out how to properly manage your business remotely by implementing an effective compliance program.

Coronavirus Preparedness – Managing the Message to Your Community

The entire nation is braced for a potential COVID-19 pandemic. The novel coronavirus was first detected in China and has now spread to more than 90 countries around the world, including the United States. COVID-19 has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO).

It is essential for correct information about the risks associated with the virus to be effectively communicated to the public, the steps that should be taken to prevent infection, and the actions to take if infection is suspected.

Getting the message out to residents in your local community is important to help prevent the spread of the disease, but what is the best approach to take to ensure correct information is provided and how can you prepare for a pandemic disease outbreak?

Rave Mobile Safety is hosting a timely webinar in which important issues will be discussed including strategies for pandemic preparedness, best practices for effective communication during a disease outbreak, and how organizations can leverage technology to inform and protect their community.

HIMSS20 Cancelled Over COVID-19 Fears

The 2020 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference (HIMSS 20) has been cancelled due to the continuing spread of COVID-19. More than 40,000 individuals and 1,300 exhibitors were due to attend the conference, which was scheduled to run from March 9 through March 13 in Orlando, Florida.

Following new advice issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the decision was taken to cancel the conference. This is the first time the HIMSS conference has been cancelled in its 58-year history.

Healthcare professionals from around the world were due to attend the HIMSS conference, some of whom may already have been exposed to COVID-19. HIMSS has been assessing the novel coronavirus outbreak for several weeks but as the event grew close, the risks increased considerably. Last week HIMSS explained that it was closely monitoring the outbreak on an hour-by-hour basis and several major exhibitors pulled out of the conference, including Humana, Amazon, and Cisco.

New information from the WHO and CDC highlighted the risks involved in going ahead with the conference.  HIMSS explained it has a responsibility to protect its members, employees, and local residents and there could also be negative consequences from displacing medical professionals at a critical time when they would likely be needed at work to help prevent the spread of the disease and ensure infected patients receive they care they need.

“In coordination with an external advisory panel of medical professionals to support evidence-based decision making, it is clear that it would be an unacceptable risk to bring so many thousands of people together in Orlando next week,” explained HIMSS in a statement issued on Thursday.
